Kingsley previews two Saturday races on The King Zone, focusing on his best bet of the day, Beast Mode, plus a form-driven look at the CF Orr Stakes. He also outlines an upcoming break from Max Bet to cover the Japan Cup and Hong Kong International Day.

Beast Mode – Best Bet of the Day

Kingsley nominates Beast Mode as his best bet, running over 1100 metres at Caulfield with the rail out 6 metres. He reviews the horse's last win on Cox Plate day at Moonee Valley over 1000 metres, where Beast Mode jumped from barrier 4, led easily and recorded a 119 early-speed figure on Kingsley's ratings, closing strongly through the line.

Kingsley references an interview with trainer Ben Hayes, who noted the blinkers had changed the horse and that he had been kept fresh. On Kingsley's ratings, Beast Mode has moved from the high 80s and 90s to a 97 and then a career-high 104, which Kingsley attributes to the blinkers and a three-week freshen-up between runs. He took $3, noting bigger firms went to around $4.40, and expects the horse to start closer to around $2.20 to $2.80.

The Chasers – Hedged and Boston Rocks

Kingsley rates Hedged and Boston Rocks as the second and third picks. Hedged has drawn barrier two but hasn't won in eight starts and, in Kingsley's view, needs luck, likely settling midfield on the fence. His ratings sit at 84 last start (held up), a 100 before that, and around 95 otherwise — figures Kingsley says would require Beast Mode to regress significantly for Hedged to feature.

Boston Rocks comes in with a weight drop after the Kozzie, but Kingsley expects him off the pace and needing to run Beast Mode down, rating him a chance only if Beast Mode fails.

CF Orr Stakes – A Form Puzzle

Kingsley describes the CF Orr Stakes as interesting rather than a Max Bet race. He likes two on-pace runners at overs: Evaporate ($5.50–$7.50) and Vinrock (he took $16). Both drop back from 1600m to 1400m and, in his view, need to settle first or second and try to hold on. Evaporate has won four times when settling on-pace but has recently been racing too far back (eighth, tenth).

On the short-priced runners, Kingsley notes Jimmy Star ($2) has run well from more positive rides in the Everest and Russell Balding, but can be beaten by slow tempos or bad luck. Angel Capital has recorded faster last-200m sectionals (152, 150) than Jimmy Star in some runs, and has 10 starts for five wins. Kingsley is wary of short odds in small fields with limited pace on paper.

Selections and Staking Notes

Kingsley suggests something on Evaporate and Vinrock for those playing the CF Orr Stakes, while Beast Mode is the clear Max Bet. He advises followers not to increase stakes too much after a good run, keeping them level or lifting only around 10%, and to expect the natural ups and downs.
