Week So Far and Membership

Kingsley opens with the week's results: 37 bets, 16 winners, and a 65% return on investment. He notes that Friday's three meetings are free to view on the King Zone, and that access is available even to non-members. He also mentions a Spring Carnival offer covering six meetings across three weeks — including the Cox Plate, Bendigo Cup, Derby, Melbourne Cup, Oaks, and a Saturday meeting — priced at $150 at 50% off.

Max Bet: Rivalino

Kingsley's first max bet is Rivalino, which he frames around the class edge he has been discussing. Rivalino is coming out of a Caulfield Guineas and a Golden Rose, giving it a race strength measure of 91 against 83 and 81 for its rivals — eight points above the second-ranked runner, Firmo. He rates Rivalino at 90 on his class speed weight measure, seven points clear.

Rivalino has drawn barrier one, and Kingsley expects Nash to sit forward, around third or fourth on the fence. He notes Rivalino showed pace in the Caulfield Guineas, settling around fifth. The horse is now $2.30, having been $3 the previous day, with prices easing after scratchings. Kingsley likes the class edge, the jockey and the value, and views the danger as I Hope, going to 1600m for the first time.

He also uses the segment to raise questions for viewers: which distances to include in ratings for a 1600m race, and how far back into a horse's career to go when assessing form.

Max Bet: Free Carry

Kingsley's second max bet is Free Carry, number seven in race five at Doomben. Unlike Rivalino, Free Carry is going up in grade. He builds the case around three things: weight (dropping from 60kg to 52.5kg with Emily riding), race pressure (able to lead off a slow tempo), and first-time blinkers. He is prepared to forgive the last-start failure at Toowoomba off a fast early tempo.

Free Carry is $3, having been $5.50 and $6 the previous day; Kingsley considers $4.40 a good price. He highlights two lays in the race, Kabos and favourite Victory Win, the latter drawn barrier two and likely to get back on the fence.

The Cox Plate

Kingsley says the Cox Plate — the last running at Moonee Valley before renovations — is not a betting race for him. He rates Via Sistina and Antino as the two main hopes, with Treasure the Moment third and Aliana fourth on his prices. He notes Via Sistina's acceleration but says she needs a fast tempo, and expects some pressure in the race. He marks Antino at $3.70 as the only overlay and Via Sistina at $2.50, but finds both too short. He identifies Buckaroo as the horse he would lay over the gap.
