How a Professional Punter Thinks: Kingsley Bartholomew’s Glasshouse 2025 Breakdown

The King Zone · 30 July 2026

Standfirst

Kingsley works through Race 7 at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, the Glass House, explaining how he arrives at his selections using the tools on the King Zone site. He lands on two bets: the Infltor as an official back and Redford as a good ruffy.

The Track and the Race

The track is currently a heavy 8, but Kingsley expects it to improve to around a soft 6 or soft 7 by race day. He notes it is traditionally hard to lead at the Sunshine Coast, a big, wide open track where horses can make ground down the centre. His top four selections on the site are the Infltor, Warny, Redford and Grand Impact.

The Infltor

Kingsley rates the Infltor as his main pick and prices it at $3.80, with around $4.60 to $5 available in the market. He believes the horse can lead if it wants to but expects it to settle just off the pace, around fourth to sixth, which he considers the ideal position at this track. The Infltor tops the cruising rating on 99 and carries an acceleration figure of 96. Because Kingsley doesn't expect the horse to use all its cruising speed early, he thinks its acceleration on the day may end up higher. He notes it is backing up seven days after a win, is longer than his assessed price, and has a class edge.

The CAM Ratings and Weight

Kingsley explains the CAM (cruising acceleration metric) combines a cruising rating and an acceleration rating, and that weight is not factored into these raw numbers. He is against Far Too Easy, which has strong cruising and acceleration figures but carries 60.5kg in a high-class race. Fortunate Kiss carries 53kg with a raw acceleration rating of 100, but only an 82 cruising figure, meaning she gets back; Kingsley flags her as a first-four option rather than a win chance, noting 20 runs at listed level or higher for no wins. He generally opposes horses high in the weights in high-class races, pointing out that lighter-weighted horses can still do the ratings to win.

Warny and the Staking View

Warny drew barrier 12 this time after barrier one last start, which Kingsley thinks may suit better. He marked Warny as a great chance but sees no value at $3.50 against his own $2.80 assessment, and notes Warny's lower race strength. Even if Warny drifted to $4, Kingsley says he would stay off it, because he is taking $5 early on the Infltor and does not want to overcommit. He caps his involvement at around 40% of the market and warns against backing drifters or too many runners in one race.

Redford as the Ruffy

Kingsley marks Redford at $11 against roughly $18 in the market, calling it good value. The negatives are a low race strength and settling a long way back in a higher-class race. The positives include coming in fitter for three runs back, a good jockey, a suited 1400m distance, a light weight of 53kg, and forgivable last two starts. He stresses his system weighs all factors together rather than relying on any single one.

Kingsley closes by wishing viewers luck grinding out a profit on Saturday.
