I think the market got this one wrong...
Two Max Bets for Saturday
In this Max Bet edition, Kingsley walks through his two strongest selections for Saturday: Autumn Boy in the Caulfield Guineas at Rose Hill and Modella in Race 2 at Rose Hill.
Membership and Free Access
Kingsley outlines the Spring with the King pass: $400 worth of value for $200, covering eight days of racing. These include next Saturday (Everest Day, Caulfield Cup and every meeting that day), the Geelong Cup, Cox Plate on October 25, Bendigo Cup, and the four-week run through Derby Day, Cup Day, Oaks Day and Champions Day. That works out to $25 a day, a 50% saving, available through the promo section after logging into a TKZ account. He also notes that Caulfield Guineas Day is free for everyone on Saturday, with free ratings, selections, tips, comments and factors available on the King Zone site.
Autumn Boy – Caulfield Guineas (1600m)
Kingsley makes Autumn Boy a golden bullet, marking him at $3.40 against an available $4.80. He examines four form lines: the Golden Rose (the highest-rated race, with Won running second on 95), the Wester Swinden Stakes at the Valley (Vinrock on 88), the Prelude (Planet Red second on 80), and a Sandown race featuring Navy Pilot (89 overall). He identifies the Golden Rose as the strongest form line, six rating points higher than the Sandown race.
Reviewing the Golden Rose replay, Kingsley points out that Autumn Boy raced three wide with no cover from barrier seven while Won got a soft run and beat him by around two and a half to three lengths. Autumn Boy now draws barrier one, and Kingsley expects a fairly fast tempo suited to him. He gives Autumn Boy an acceleration figure of 104, the best in the field, and notes this is the horse's grand final, set by Chris Waller, with the step up to 1600m in his favour.
On Navy Pilot, well backed from $12 into around $6, Kingsley marks him third pick but downgrades his acceleration to 81, noting his best runs have come off slow tempos. He rates Won a definite chance but unders at $4.60, with a query over the 1600m. Vinrock is marked $14, Nepotism a place chance but well backed, and Wester Swinden longer at $20 from barrier 16. Sentu Cavi is flagged as a rough overs option for a place.
Modella – Race 2, Rose Hill (1400m)
Kingsley calls Modella his best bet of the day anywhere in the country, marking him $2.30 against $3.30 available. The race analysis returns gold across race pressure, CSW rank and other factors. With plenty of pace on paper, Modella is expected to settle midfield or worse and charge home third up over 1400m.
Kingsley gives Modella an acceleration figure of 103 against second pick Strawberry Impact's 88, and highlights peak ratings of 88 and 89 that no other runner matches. He compares this to Alabama State (peak around 85, carrying 60kg), V12 (around 82) and Strawberry Impact (84-85). Modella, trained at the track with only seven starts, is judged to have more upside.
Kingsley says he is confident about both bets and the day overall.
