He gives examples. In the Zeus Sensation race, a very slow predicted tempo suited Zeus Sensation (top for race pressure, 87 cruising alongside Amenable). In the four-horse Race 6, Globe led and won at a rated price; Kingsley opposed Buckaroo, citing near-identical cruising figures and acceleration numbers (Treasure the Moment 109, Buckaroo 108). Transatlantic won as the predicted leader off a fast tempo.

The $11 Angle and West of Swindon

In the Caulfield Guineas, Kingsley highlights how barriers change positions. Autumn Boy carried a 92 cruising metric, allowing Damien Lane to sit sixth on the fence from barrier one. He opposed West of Swindon (barrier 14), noting the horse led last start at Moonee Valley off a slow tempo but settled ninth when pressure went on. He also flags Observer, who had the highest cruising metric, was blocked for a run, and finished fourth — a horse to watch over distance and at Flemington. She's Bulletproof, with the top cruising metric (88), led despite never having led before and won a very slow race.

Analysis Figures

Kingsley reviews recent numbers. Official tips for the first 12 days of October showed +14.5% from 232 bets, 59 winners. Selection one over 618 bets returned 180 winners (29%, +8.66% on turnover), while lays returned -25%. September official tips showed +3.8% profit. He notes he now reviews every bet each morning and removes some queries, such as first-up horses that haven't trialled or apparent stable downgrades.

Bookmaker Terms and Conditions

Prompted by a Four Corners episode noting complaints in the Northern Territory can take three to four years to hear, Kingsley reads through one bookmaker's terms. He raises clauses on "good faith" betting, voiding bets suspected of pool manipulation, $500 payout caps, information requests within unspecified timeframes, account fees, expense charges and bans on automated or robotic activity. His central argument is that a national regulator should oversee standard terms and handle complaints promptly, as delayed or non-payment ultimately reduces turnover and shrinks the game.
